"Let's be cheerful"! We have no more right to steal the brightness out of the day for our own family than we have to steal the purse of a stranger. Let us be as careful that our homes are furnished with pleasant & happy thoughts as we are that the rugs are the right color and texture & the furniture comfortable and beautiful"! sledding, sans snow

The plan was to go sledding.  The assumption was that there would be snow.  There's always snow at Mark's creek.

Much thought was put into the preparations.  Maybe as much effort should have been put into finding out how things were really looking up there.  At least they had taken plenty of wood for a bonfire.  They set the hill ablaze, ate all of their food and were home before I could even miss them...  And they were not the least bit fazed!  Oh, to be young again.

Blessings, Debbie

  2. And look at the smiles.

I love people who just like the adventure of it all, no matter how it turns out. The bonfire alone would be fun to me!

Of course, they could have gone mud boggin'!

  8. That is pretty funny - I suppose they should have checked - but if there's always snow, well

    They had fun together!

  9. That's funny. March weather can be fickle. They still look happy, so it all the preparations were not wasted.

  14. It is because you have raised them to find joy in the journey, whether there is snow or not! How much happier they are than people who can't find the joy. . . Still and all, a funny story!

  15. I'm sure that this bunch of kids found some other sport to keep them from having a total lost outing. They seem to be a great bunch. JB

  17. Just visiting your site is such a joy. I do not always comment, but I read right along!

Snow has been rather an absent visitor this year.
