Today I'm thinking (again) about creativity and individuality. And once again I'm marveling at the fact that we are created by the creative Creator, God. I love that He says we are created in His image. There are so many things that I can understand about my God just from that statement alone.
When I watch my children do what they do best, it's beautiful. When I watch my children do what brings them joy... when I watch them overcome a difficulty. Beautiful.
This weekend my son drove two hours to visit his sister and brother and law... again. Erin and Audrey spent most of their weekend creating and laughing. They are all best friends and that is a very special kind of beautiful.
This is a little something beautiful that came to me from the talented Courtney of Sassafras and Winterberry. It's so me! I'm telling you, creative reflections of the creative Creator everywhere. All you have to do is look.
Blessings, Debbie
It is such a healthy thing to be together as a family...and being creative at the same time is heavenly! :D
ReplyDeleteBeautiful art work your girls created Debbie and one I would like to copy. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that our children are close, I think that is the way it's suppose to be. My children are all very close too and it warms my heart to watch them together.
Gorgeous photos today, Debbie! Joy! Yes, joy is jumping from the computer screen today. I wonder if I could whip up a few hearts on sticks for my kindred spirits at school. I'd like to!
ReplyDeleteOh - my goodness - you are right - something beautiful. I love your girls beautiful hand print art and the photo of them playing guitar through the doorway is stunning.
ReplyDelete(I really am smitten with the hand print art).
How interesting that you should post about creativity when I start an art journal to explore my own creativity - God is so cool with creating inter-linked circumstances to inspire and encourage.
(it is on my other blog: http://thosenorthernskies.blogspot.com/)
Beautiful, indeed!
ReplyDeleteI am going to copy their idea for art - going to have my younger girls and Kyle paint trace their hands and paint them! What a fun project for a cold Monday morning!

ReplyDeleteI have always wished that public schools could take the time to build community/family like home schoolers do...
I always wanted to homeschool my entire class of kindergarteners....until they were in about 3rd grade! So happy for you and your family....and sure that God must be pleased with what he created in you!
Amen Debbie! One of the greatest joys is creating a close family. If it is the only thing I accomplish in life, it is enough.
ReplyDeleteThe title of your post is right on. Your flower bouquets are beautiful, your daughter's art also beautiful, and the photo's of your two daughters playing the guitar and enjoying each others company.... So very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBlessings :)
When you say "creative Creator", it brings Edith Schaeffer to mind - that's who you're thinking of, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI love your hearts! I may make a couple today. And your red and white is so pretty - it's a combination I love!
Indeed "God Given Creativity" is all around us, and i see so much of it here at your home, along with much love! a beautifully heart warming post you have shared, Debbie. When I visit your home and so many other ladies' homes I am encouraged and inspired more than words can say.

Congratulations on winning Courtney's beautiful stool.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice seeing the girls creating. I wish I could hear their music. JB
I agree...love your hearts. Our older son walked into our house yesterday, picked up the guitar and started to play...I so need to make an environment to create. God just blesses us when we create...which is really just taking His inspirations and bring them to life.
ReplyDeleteSo true and I am thankful that you share your lovely girls and home. I have always loved that watching people create. I think being creative is what makes a person whole and more balanced.
ReplyDeleteIt is true, the one thing I have loved about blogging is seeing the creativity that is all around.
I love your little gift from Courtney. She is just the best. Have a lovely week.
Great loving post. I adore the valentine hearts-I might make some of these. Your girls hand paintings are lovely. Such creative things going on---especially the guitar playing.

ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day, beautiful friend!
Yes, that's true...we just need to look. I love that we're created in his image as well. Although God is not like us - He's perfect in every way and knows what we need! How comforting. Love those felt valentines. That's a good idea.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a neat post, Debbie! Your children all seem so talented and creative and what a joy that they are all best friends. Hoping mine can have that kind of relationship as they grow. It is so humbling and wonderful that we are created in His image!
ReplyDeleteThe hearts are cute...and so are the girls. And, not only did God create man in His image, but those who are saved are being conformed in the image of His Son, Jesus Christ!
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing what you and yours are creating. Beautiful moments!
ReplyDeleteCreativity flows here! Your children are so beautiful. Happy Valentine's Day!
