"Let's be cheerful"! We have no more right to steal the brightness out of the day for our own family than we have to steal the purse of a stranger. Let us be as careful that our homes are furnished with pleasant & happy thoughts as we are that the rugs are the right color and texture & the furniture comfortable and beautiful"! the wind blew

The wind blew.  Hard.  It blew most of the day bringing in a night blizzard.  Once again the girls will be a bit disappointed.  We watched the flakes get bigger and heavier before going to bed.  I woke up early this morning to light coming through the window telling me it was either later than I thought or... it snowed.  It was early.  The snow was once again not more than an inch deep.  It will probably be mostly gone by the time we finish breakfast...  Schizophrenic pre-spring weather.  Just 2 days ago it was sixty five. Positively balmy for this time of year in our neck of the woods.  How are things looking in your 'neck' today?

Blessings, Debbie

  1. This morning it's in the single digits, but it's supposed to be near 60 tomorrow, and in the sixties on Thursday!

  2. We have also been having lots of wind here, but no snow unfortunately. Autumn is here and the weather is cool.

  3. The weather report from our neck of the woods is...

    "Schizophrenic pre-spring weather"

We're still sunny, but we got cold (for us) last night, and it's still nippy today. Praise God it wasn't cold enough to hurt the flowers blooming, just cold enough to slow them down a bit.

  4. Nutty weather here too Debbie. I keep bouncing between mid 60's to mid 80's! We are having one of the worse pollen seasons I remember, making everything a pale yellow. Summer should be a riot!

  5. Love that definition of the weather - schizophrenic. It certainly has been that! At least we just get snow one day, warmth the next, so much better than what the Midwest is dealing with!

  10. We were at 80 degrees yesterday, today I think your wind has made it down to here. It is really starting to blow and we are supposed to be down as low as the 20s tonight. But by Thursday up to 75 degrees. You are right. It just changes and changes.

  13. We woke up to a good covering of frost. I love it. Blue sky and cold. OK, maybe not so much the cold, but that's what homemade knits are for.

  14. We had lots of fluffy snow over night but it won't last when the temperature rises again. Spring is getting closer.

  15. Today it was fifty and tomorrow it will be thirty and raining. Last week Monday, I shoveled seven inches of snow off the drive. :)

BTW regarding the fish - Dad thinks they may have bit the dust coming through the dam - I really don't know. It was only one small group so I don't think it was anything serious.

  16. Yesterday...CRAZY big snow flakes, the biggest I've ever seen, but no snow on the ground.
    Today...chilly and sunny.
Tomorrow...in the 60's, so they say.
Yes, spring brings quite the variety of weather!
(I may be weird, but I HATE wind. Makes me feel unsettled.)
Warm {{hugs}} to you this evening...

  17. We had snow when we woke yesterday, too. It was lovely, but it melted quickly. Spring, where is the promise of your coming? Just around the corner, I know, but still...

  18. Lots of wind here too, but no snow. Today is our balmy day. My daffodils are starting to poke their leaves above the cold earth, so spring should be coming soon.

    Blessings!
