"Let's be cheerful"! We have no more right to steal the brightness out of the day for our own family than we have to steal the purse of a stranger. Let us be as careful that our homes are furnished with pleasant & happy thoughts as we are that the rugs are the right color and texture & the furniture comfortable and beautiful"! the source of my madness

Talk about going straight to the source!  This weekend I was blessed to be invited to the friend of a friend's house to spin with a group of Pygora breeders.  I mentioned here that I am becoming addicted to this fiber. Now I'm in love with the goats that provide it.  Don't worry... this is not a new hobby I'm considering.  I live in town, remember?  So, I stick to the spinning of and knitting with the beautiful yarn and leave the raising to Kathryn and her crew.

The beautiful Willamette Valley is also home to my Hillary so I stayed the night with her and Monte.  We    attended their church on Sunday morning where Jon Micah of Kutless was home for the weekend and leading praise and worship.  Apparently Athey Creek Christian Fellowship is his home church.  I couldn't wait to tell my husband.  Not that he needs another excuse to visit his daughter, but...

Blessings, Debbie

  5. I seriously thought of trying to raise some of these beauties but not at this point and time in my life. My plate is very full so I will drool over these pictures instead. I only have time to catch a stitch here and there so I don't even have time to learn to spin...yet. I will have that day soon hmmmmm maybe in 8 years when I retire from homeschooling. [o= I love seeing your fiber adventures and keep them coming when you can. I just savor these posts. Yes, I am a fiber addict and I am proud of it, lol.

    Blessings and ((HUGS))

  10. Debbie, I really did think you were ill. You began to feel like you were coming down with something, and then disappeared! And my tendency is to imagine the worst! :D Blogging can be a burden at times, but so can everything one *has* to do, I guess.
    aahhhhhhhhh.

  12. Wow, what a nice gathering of spinners. I'm seeing sheep and others see goats. Whatever they are, I think that they need some ladders to climb on. Lol.. JB

  14. Now you have me oohing and aahing over the source of your wool, and not just at your luscious knitted projects! That first photo in this post...I just want to hug his neck...sooo cute!
And that spinning party must have had you in 7th heaven! :-D

(And now, silly girl, I must scold you for comparing. I just know that you are doing wonderful things as you teach your girls, your way, using your own gifts and talents...and His wisdom and guidance! And when you read tomorrow's post, you'll feel better even if you are comparing.)

Praying your headache is much better this evening. Hugs to you, sweet friend...

  18. Lol! Now you will just have MORE of an excuse to visit. I think I might have to tell our neighbour to get wool goats. They have milkers, but woolies would be good too. What a fascinating afternoon!! Love the scarf in your post below! The only wool I use is the acrylic stuff that I find at thrift stores. I am amazed at all the different types out there. If I ever actually get good at knitting then I will allow myself to buy some of the more exotic wools. A girl can dream :o).

    Blessings!
