"Let's be cheerful"! We have no more right to steal the brightness out of the day for our own family than we have to steal the purse of a stranger. Let us be as careful that our homes are furnished with pleasant & happy thoughts as we are that the rugs are the right color and texture & the furniture comfortable and beautiful"! summerantics

A generous spirit.  That's what we got to experience this day.  Bonnie has been offering a play day at her pool to my mother and her grands all summer.  We happened to get in on the fun.. along with Mom and her youngest grandkids.  It was HOT.  The pool was COOL.  Everyone had FUN!

After the first round of swimming everybody trotted off to the kitty shed.  Bonnie does foster care for the Humane Society.  She loves on kittens until they are old enough to be given homes.  What a fine little nursery she has for these babies.  It's clean and cool.  More than humane...

Now everyone was hungry.  So...

Bonnie built a fire in the shade where the hungry crew roasted hot dogs and marshmallows.  Her grand daughter Lacey and little neighbor boy were there to play too.  Lacey had tinsel in her hair which made the girls comment that they had been wanting a feather.  Lo and behold... Bonnie had just purchased the special feathers and had them in the craft room with the crimp beads.  So the girls brushed through their wet hair and 5 minutes later they sported their stylish new accessory.

Thanks to a lovely lady for a lovely day...

I spent more than a few photos on a wonderful little something upstairs in the living room.  I'll play show and tell tomorrow!  'Til then.

Blessings, Debbie

  8. What a fun filled busy day you all had. Bonnie sounds like a really lovely person to know.

Our pool is patiently waiting for our weather to get warmer so we can enjoy it again. The weather last summer was so mild we hardly got to use it, not that I am complaining because our Summers can get fiercely hot.

  9. A perfect day - and such a memory maker! Those days for me are far and away, now, with my kids grown. Enjoy the time while it is yours - new seasons come . . .

Now, I have to ask - been bugging me since we met - WHAT IS your header photograph of? A wooden something . . .

    Joy!

  22. It's too chilly for a pool party here today, and Mrs. J's ornamental pond next door will only hold one of us at a time, and even then it's a squeeze with knees tucked under chin.

Looks like you all had a fantastic day, how kind Bonnie is......love the feathers in the hair, very chic.

    And those kittens...awwwwwwwwwwwwwww...so sweet!
What a beautiful day you were blessed with!

Oh, don't I wish you were close enough to teach me to knit! Bekah had a knitting lesson with a friend last winter (a Christmas gift from her sister)...but I cannot concentrate in a group. I'm far too easily distracted. One-on-one is a must for me. Someday...
