Berries!

Berries in the berry patch
Berries in the bowl
Berries by the spoonful
I love to eat 'em whole
Berries by the riverbank
Where pickin' 'em is hard
Berries by the picket fence
In someone else's yard
I pick 'em in the morning
And I pick 'em after noon
(whispered)
I pick 'em from my neighbor's
Only underneath the moon
If berries are your favorite
And they grow beside the gate
Be sure they are on your side
Or be sure and pick 'em late!
Oh, I'll make the buttermilk biscuits and be right over! xx
ReplyDeleteYou've been busy! Love the poem:@)
ReplyDeleteNot only have you been busy putting up the goods, you've been creating poetry, too!! I sure would love some of that jam on a nice hot biscuit with some butter right about now!! =D blessings ~ tanna

I loved your poem! Made me giggle. Your jam looks wonderful. Did Tracey say she's bringing the biscuits to pass? :)
ReplyDeletegreat poem! It could easily be put into song :)
ReplyDeleteOh how wonderful....I missed picking berries this year and canning...can't wait to do it again next year...enjoy the fruit of your labor
ReplyDeleteYou are so clever. :) Love the rhyme!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, ~Lisa
You gave me a chuckle and a smile, a great start to my day, thanks! xxoo
ReplyDeleteLove the little upbeat poem. Such a good rhythm to it. Reminds me of something else, but don't know what...maybe Baa Baa Black Sheep? So I take it you are canning outside. I noticed that the green beans looked like you canned them outside (or at least the processing part). This is a great idea to keep the house cooler.
ReplyDeleteI guess Baa Baa and your poem each have a different tempo, so that's probably not what fits.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun poem. The jam looks good. Glad to see you are finally harvesting some of your garden!
ReplyDeleteVery cute poem. Thanks for the giggle.
ReplyDelete"Berry" delicious! And "berry" creative you! :-D
ReplyDeleteVery cute poem, I will keep that good advice in mind! Your jam looks yummy. xo,
ReplyDeleteJust lovely and I like your song. I could see you singing it as you picked berries.
ReplyDeleteMy berries are frozen in the freezer and are waiting ( to be made into jam or juice) till things slow down for me. [o=
ReplyDeleteToday is applesauce.
Blessings and ((HUGS))

ReplyDeleteOh, that ruby color!
ReplyDeleteThat poem is too cute...very Seuss-y! And the jam, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat poem sure made me smile. I love it! What a beautiful family you have. I love your blog, thanks so much for stopping by mine :)
ReplyDeleteLove that poem!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy that beautiful jam. It looks lovely.
I love that you are working outside with some of this canning. While it is currently 112 degrees in my own backyard, yours looks like a piece of heaven.
ReplyDeleteCute song...beautiful jam!
ReplyDeleteI so love this time of year, when the larder starts filling up with jars of different colours. You have been busy. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHehe! What a cute song. I saw berries in the store today for $5 for those dumb little plastic boxes. I couldn't believe it. I wish our plants were still producing. Maybe I will have to find a neighbor's yard... :)
ReplyDeleteThat's so cute! In my head, I was putting it to a "patty cake" beat. I also love homemade jam. Yours looks delish.
