"Let's be cheerful"! We have no more right to steal the brightness out of the day for our own family than we have to steal the purse of a stranger. Let us be as careful that our homes are furnished with pleasant & happy thoughts as we are that the rugs are the right color and texture & the furniture comfortable and beautiful"! {this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.
Enjoy your weekend.

Cousins are the best...well second best to siblings perhaps but less annoying than siblings so it kinda evens out. ;)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend, Debbie!
What a sweet picture! It looks like these two are very close friends. :)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I LOVE your new blog header, and the quote matches the picture perfectly! Good choice! :)
Sadly my boys don't have any cousins their age. I grew up surrounded by my cousins for the first 20 years of my life but everyone has gone in different directions at this point. Wishing you and your a wonderful weekend. Tammy
ReplyDeleteI don't have any close cousins and only 5 all together. My husband? Over 100 all together and they live close. It's fun at family reunions.
ReplyDeleteI love the way he is looking at her! Have fun this weekend Debbie. I'll find my dancing shoes and you get the music ready! xx
I love the thousand words the picture speaks.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Happy Weekend:@)

ReplyDeleteI think not having any cousins is one of the things I missed most growing up. But my friends had plenty and they shared!
ReplyDeleteCompletely sweet - very tender...
ReplyDeleteAwe too sweet. [o=
ReplyDeleteOhhh btw I sadly cannot say the syrup is odorless but I can say my sweetie still kisses me and my boys haven't complained being near me. [o=

Sweet and endearing!
ReplyDeleteOh that's sweet! I've noticed little boys are very sweet and tender and it's so nice to see. :)
ReplyDeleteSweet innocence. JB
ReplyDeleteI had no siblings but dozens of cousins from my parents' nieces and nephews, so I was always surrounded with kids to play games with, and have sleepovers, etc. This is a beautiful photo. (Love your new header photo by the way). xo,
ReplyDeleteCute photo! My children love to be with their cousins too. Have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet, he adores her!xxx
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your photos Debbie. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSuch a tender moment - a younger cousin looking up to an older one. Was he pushing her hair aside?
ReplyDeleteBTW - the round wooden discs for the checkerboard were just from Michael's (big box art/craft store). But I'm sure there is something online at a better price. I think I used a coupon from the newspaper for them to make them even less expensive. I thought about stamping something on each one or painting a more elaborate picture, but realized how long it would take.
What a perfect way to end summer.
ReplyDeleteHe looks at her so lovingly, wow friendship!;)
ReplyDeletesweet;)

Cousins can be so special, can't they? Although, I must admit I was never wild about any of my cousins. Maybe it was because I had so many siblings!
ReplyDeleteI'm hopeful that my grands will continue to love their cousins and see them more often, too!
Oh this is nice. B
ReplyDeleteHI Debbie! Can you email me your address? Ratty, Toad, and Mole are coming to your house after they hob knob with Deborah at A Different Drum. You are the first USA stop and then you'll mail to Lisa in Minnesota. I'll email you her address.
