Well, you were with me during the planning stages. You saw it begin to come together. You were with me the day they arrived. But I've never officially introduced to you ~ the ladies.
First we have the demure Missy wearing her lovely buff color and proficient plumage. Just check out that bodacious backside.
Next is Sally Henny Penny, always a wooer of fans as she dances her way down the runway.
Now let's marvel at the dazzling Elsie of the Dinsmore lineage, stunning in her rich couture.
Last but not least we have Lucy the overachiever. Her performance is stellar, as far as egg laying is concerned. I don't think she has let a day go by without gifting us.
Really this is an amazing bunch of girls. Rarely do we gather less than 3 eggs (and sometimes 4). We worried that 4 chickens wouldn't be enough to be worth the trouble, but we can't keep up with them! They produce faster than we can eat and we are thankful.
So, this is not a contest, just a display. Because really, how could you choose a favorite? They are definitely all winners!
Oh they are all beautiful. hens have marvellous personalities - it is such fun to watch their evolving dynamics - better than any soap opera. have fun with your girls. xx
ReplyDeleteI want..I want some too. Still waiting...be sure, it's going to happen. Give them a hug for me please. Maa
ReplyDeleteI really must get you a picture of Beatrix Potter so she won't feel left out! She isn't laying it, but in a few months she should start.xx

Such lovely ladies too! We started off with four and then a friend emigrated and left us 6 more. 10 eggs a day doesn't sound bad, but when you start multiplying up by 7 for the week, every week, they start to add up. Good job I have lots of friends to take our surplus.
ReplyDeleteYou could never pick a favorite because they are all bee-you-tee-ful!
ReplyDeleteLovely ladies!
ReplyDeleteI loved meeting the ladies...how cute that is! We have one rooster and 4 hens and they keep us in plenty of eggs. A skunk got in about a week ago and killed one of them though..I was so sad! My husband shot the skunk and boy did he stink!!! ;D
ReplyDeleteDear Debbie,
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet ladies you have! Hens are the funniest, silliest, and sweetest birds, aren't they (Next to all the other silly birds like ducks, of course)?
I just love their pantaloons!
Love,
Marqueta
