"Let's be cheerful"! We have no more right to steal the brightness out of the day for our own family than we have to steal the purse of a stranger. Let us be as careful that our homes are furnished with pleasant & happy thoughts as we are that the rugs are the right color and texture & the furniture comfortable and beautiful"! the hope and the history

The Hope and the History
Debbie Penington
June 17, 2011

Like footprints on the beach, my life leaves an imprint.
If I look forward I see nothing but sand as eternity
stretching before me.
If I look back I see the path that I've taken.
Steady prints, directed steps
giving a clue as to what was happening with my walk.
I prefer to look forward, throwing a backward glance now and then.
If I look too closely at what my feet are doing this moment
I risk missing out on the hope,
and the history.
The hope of an unmarked stretch of eternity before me,
and the history of lessons learned
and love lived behind.

Blessings, Debbie

  5. Hi Debbie!
I see some of my favorite books on your sidebar. I especially love the More With Less Cookbook. Elizabeth Zimmerman's Knitting Almanac is wonderful, too. I look at it over and over again. Have a sweet weekend, friend!
