We waited and waited and waited for spring... We did a little spring cleaning. We put away the winter clothes. We planted the lettuce and the spinach (missed the peas). We even decorated the chalk board in our loudest welcome possible! It was slow in coming, but come it did.
Now I think it's time to invite summer...
Blessings, Debbie
Yes, just about one week away! And it has been in the high nineties here and very humid, but it has cooled down this week. xo,
ReplyDeleteMight as well, since our weather thinks it already is. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by--see you soon.
Melinda
Summer has taken her sweet time to come for a visit this year, she showed up yesterday. I was so happy to see her. I keep telling her to stay for awhile but she said, she can only spare a couple of days this week. I decided I would be happy and just enjoy her visit. :) I greet her each morning by opening my doors wide and and letting my windows say open to by ways of greeting.
ReplyDeleteI just love the perfume she wears. I hope your day with her is just and nice. I do think you need to decorate that chalk board too.
Hugs,
Kim
P.S. I get to go to the library today and get some of Jane's books. I am excited. I will let you know what I think.
Summer is taking her sweet time getting here, too. (northern WV) She visited for about a week and now it is cool again. I had to turn on the blanket last night for a bit! I'm not complaining though. 75 degrees is about perfect!
ReplyDeleteSummer has been here and I'm ready for her to go! It was 101 here yesterday, 115 with the heat index! Records are being broken everywhere. I would love some cooler temps and some rain would be a real blessing.
ReplyDeletei think your summer IS our spring, or something like that... enjoy it while it lasts!
ReplyDeletei love the colorful picture!
I agree!
ReplyDeleteAnd your swing from the previous post is wonderuful.
Summer is being a bit pokey in these parts. Hope it hurries up or we won't have tomatoes or peppers this year.
ReplyDeleteHooray hooray, yes, let's invite summer. It's supposed to be in the eighties here this weekend. Perhaps we'll put up our pool.
ReplyDeleteThank you for reading and encouraging us on our adoption journey. We are blessed by the power of our praying friends!
Blessings!
Deborah
Oh no. Not already. Where is my year going! I still have seeds. Still in their packets. Running our of time. Oh well. Best just to enjoy now. I guess.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what happened to Summer to make her so shy, or perhaps mother Nature is getting forgetful in her old age. I think that we all need to hang out our welcome signs. JB
ReplyDeleteahhhh, I love summer! nothing like it; the warmth, the sunshine and carefree attitudes of many!
ReplyDeleteAs you know, summer has hit NC with a vengence!
We have enough summer to share....want some of our 100+ degrees days? :-)
ReplyDeleteSeeing your chalk board brought back such memories! It is very similar to one I had growing up. I loved it so much. Where did it go, I wonder?
ReplyDeleteSpring lasted maybe 2 weeks for us. We will gladly send you some summer. It was 101 here today.
I never invite summer. Never.
ReplyDelete(Hey...maybe I do need to live near you, if your summers are pleasant!)
I think summer is confused, it has been here a couple of weeks already. We have had highs in the upper 90's. I am wondering what happened to spring. Not one to complain though, I will take this over cold and snowy any day.
ReplyDeleteWe missed planting peas as well. But our summer garden is in and we are quite content with that! I hope you have many many lazy dazy summer days ahead :D
ReplyDeleteWe can't miss summer here...we have been having 100 plus degrees already.
ReplyDeleteLove you chalk board!
