This time leading up to the grand appearance of my snuggle baby... I'm loving every minute of it. Hillary was home last weekend (was it really over a week ago?) for her 'this side of the mountain' baby shower. There was much love and great loot!
The day promised to continue raining as it was time to set up outside and as we stared at one another with our hands in our pockets and our 'dear in the headlights' look, suddenly the sun peeked through the clouds calling us into the yard and we made the decision to go for it.
We had a good hour of sweater removal, about a half an hour of sweaters back on, 20 minutes or so of wrapped in blankets before the rain came and we made a mad dash inside to finish opening presents. It was Great! The food was fabulous, the games were fun, friends and family were generous and Hillary glowed. This is one blessed baby. :)
Praying love (and warmth) for you this day! :)

ReplyDeleteThis is just sooooooooooooooooo precious and it made tears come to my eyes. You see I am soooooooooooo enjoying adopted grandson, but the two pregnancies are on their way....not showing yet, just visiting the bath room a lot. I can't even envision this part of it yet...how exciting!!! Oh God is good! I know if my little grandson can steal my heart at just his picture, I know the birth of two grandchildren will do the same also. I have been amazed at the love that pours out! Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!

Looks like a lovely shower! How many grandbabies will this be for you?
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks so much for visiting my blog and leaving a comment, it's nice to meet you :)
This is my first!
DeleteIs that child ever going to be born? :D
ReplyDeleteWas the holy book opened to a particular passage?
The due date is June 30th. The jar of colorful craft sticks was so that each guest could leave a bible verse or an encouragement along with their name as a remembrance. The Bible was for reference if someone needed to look something up. Of course, just having it there was... right. :)
DeleteA lovely idea.
DeleteI love baby showers! What a lovely, lovely party you had. The table of treats was absolutely gorgeous-- and the decorations, the colors, that beautiful white Jenny Lind crib, and the photo banner. It sounds like you all had a spectacular time together blessing the new mama and baby.
