"Let's be cheerful"! We have no more right to steal the brightness out of the day for our own family than we have to steal the purse of a stranger. Let us be as careful that our homes are furnished with pleasant & happy thoughts as we are that the rugs are the right color and texture & the furniture comfortable and beautiful"! the adventures begin

When we heard that friends would be arriving for a brief visit, preparations began.  I don't know about you, but 3 adult guests take a bit of rearranging and revamping if everyone is going to be cozy.  Well, they arrived quicker than I expected and so of course we will be making do and just settling in to enjoy sweet fellowship.  Of course, they couldn't be kinder and keep reassuring me that everything is perfect.  I love friends!  Tonight we will all get a good night's sleep so that we are fresh for the adventures planned over the next few days!

Blessings, Debbie

Your applefest looked like such fun! Your daughters ARE learning the ropes quite well. Good job, Mom.

I declined an apple peeler like than about 10 years ago- but now I would have so much use for one. Maybe next autumn...

  9. Hi Debbie, I hope that you have a nice and relaxed visit with your 3 adult guests. By the way, could you explain the photo. I'm wondering if those little sachets are potpourri that you made. JB

  14. Enjoy your visit, and it's no surprise that they don't care how perfectly things are put together....they just want to enjoy your sweet company. BUT, I know you've made everything so special for them.

  15. Hi Debbie- that is a really great shot- it's so fabulous actually to see them when you've spent ages emailing and laughing and plotting and thinking! I can't believe how long it will take for them to be here, but I am so glad that they are in the States for Fall, and maybe even Thanksgiving, 'twould be a shame for them to miss that! Have fun! Your world looks so amazing, how could they not have a ball, even if it's not a masquerade ball!
