Right now I am sipping steamy, fresh brew from my favorite pottery mug.
I'm considering waking my sleepy-heads as they wandered in at 10:30 last night from an ice skating session in the 'big city'. Maybe I'll let them sleep a little longer..
I'm smiling because I just pushed send on an e-letter to my beautiful granny in Florida.
I'm considering the mess of crayons and crafty supplies being sorted for today's delivery to the thrift store realizing that these younger supplies have had little attention these past few years... sigh.
Realizing also that although the crayons haven't had much attention the skilled hands in this house do indeed still bless with artistic, crafty goodness... contented sigh.
I'm remembering the 30 second video of 'Charlotte over the Mountain' dancing that kept her grandpa and grandma entertained last night as we hit play.. again.. and again.. and again..
I'm anticipating the union of our only boy to his chosen girl in May and imagining the happy little videos to come.. :)

I'm recognizing the loving hand of the loving God who gently directs my
thoughts and actions because I allow Him, and knowing without a doubt that my
security is in Him alone. He is my peace
and I am ever
so thankful for my portion!

Have a beautiful weekend dear friend.
ReplyDeletePS- the crayons here haven't been touched in a while either, makes me a little sad.
And that's exactly what I feel as I read your posts. Peace. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYes, peace, is what I feel. And, somehow, longing. Untouched crayons. Sigh.
ReplyDeletebeauty in it all, Debbie.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that.

Gorgeous! And I am soaking up that last paragraph. I'm glad I know who Jesus is!! Not just about him..
ReplyDeleteI'm, too, thankful for His peace..and my portion!!
I so love the last line--thankful for my portion!!!! That is beautiful. My Grandma Jewell in her 80's and 90's used to love to color. She would get those large intricate detailed coloring books. I miss her so much and her childlike spirit. I will see her one day.

Now those are great photos!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, inspiring thoughts you have shared.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful way to start your day in gratitude and peace. I too am inspired by your words. Spending time with Jesus in contemplation of his gifts is an empowering way to start a great day. 'Seeing the color crayons makes me want to play with them. sigh!

Oh amen, Debbie. Only in Him do we have peace and hope in this world.
ReplyDeleteAhhh...I can just imagine you and your hubby watching the 30 seconds of your Charlotte dancing over and over and over again! In fact, it sounds completely sensible to me! And so does growing sentimental over crayons that are no longer used.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your Cory and his beloved! I hope you'll share many photos of the special day!
I love your contentment and gratitude for God's blessings.
(On a lighter note...I love that you love my red checked chair!) ;)
Ah, so many blessings and the wisdom to see and appreciate them from the hand of your loving Father. May it continue to be so, Debbie! <3
ReplyDeleteBeautiful thoughts--what a lovely way to start your day. ♥
ReplyDeleteAmen...powerful words! A powerful God who holds us in His hands.
ReplyDeleteI love the ending - I know that feeling of contentment when I allow Him to direct my thoughts.
