"Let's be cheerful"! We have no more right to steal the brightness out of the day for our own family than we have to steal the purse of a stranger. Let us be as careful that our homes are furnished with pleasant & happy thoughts as we are that the rugs are the right color and texture & the furniture comfortable and beautiful"! after easter

Today... as we come down from the feel-good of yesterday, we try to maintain the importance of the day in our everyday.  We purpose to live our lives for the one who made a way for us.  He says, "Be ye Holy for I am Holy", so we try to remember that as we make our beds, fold and put away laundry, struggle through a math problem, converse with a family member, rush through a check out line, wrestle with illness, clean out the chicken coop, discuss the finances, fill the gas tank (oy vey!)...

Today, as we slip back into the old routine, we try to be more mindful of the sacrifice and gift that is ours. We try a bit harder to control ourselves and remember what we can accomplish through Him.  And we have joy.

The eye is the lamp of the body.  If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light.  Mathew 6:22

Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.  Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  Mathew 5:15

Today, we strive to burn a little bit brighter...

Blessings, Debbie

  6. Loved the photos, we had all adult children doing the Egg hunt last year and they smiled and laughed just like when they were little :)

  7. Such a fun post! I love how the olders helped gather eggs with the youngers. No grandkids here yet --- so no egg hunt. In the past, when the boys really were too old to gather eggs, they insisted they still wanted the experience of it all --- so THEY hid the eggs and we (parents) did the gathering. That was a fun Easter --- I'll never forget! LOL!

Enjoy a blessed and beautiful day!

PS: You had me right with you on the "joy" of each day until you got to the "filling the gas tank" part!

  9. That is it, isn't it? The realizing the sacrifice and the striving to to hold onto the joy....to live as He lived and love as He loved...every single day. Joining you here is always one of the brightest spots in my day. Your love shines...love for your God and the life you are living.

  11. My comment just vanished. In fear that it will eventually show up, I won't repeat what I just said.

Suffice it to say that I love pictures of your family, and I thought your message in this post was wonderful.

I, too, am trying to burn more brightly.

  12. Beautiful thoughts you are sharing here today, Debbie. So true! How we need to keep the day in our consciousness...and live its reality out every day. I love deep thoughts to ponder...

Thanks for sharing your lovely pictures...you told a lovely story through them. Happy faces, family togetherness, celebrating, and even the car leaving with your loved ones. Such a sweet story.

(Yes, I do remember that your favorite color is blue! And thank you for your kind words, as always.)

    Love from your friend...
