"Let's be cheerful"! We have no more right to steal the brightness out of the day for our own family than we have to steal the purse of a stranger. Let us be as careful that our homes are furnished with pleasant & happy thoughts as we are that the rugs are the right color and texture & the furniture comfortable and beautiful"! a.k.a. armistice day

Lovely girls gather around the computer screen respectfully waiting for the veteran to speak. Tomorrow they will gather downtown to witness the brief procession that will walk (or wheelchair) its way to the memorial at the park.  There will be a speech and the shooting of firearms and tears.  We want to know. We want to show respect.  Tomorrow we will make a concentrated effort to say thank you, face to face.

And my friend the fiber lady sent me home with a goody bag!

Blessings, Debbie

  4. We don't have school today (parent/teacher conferences) but we've been honoring the veterans all week. The sixth graders are so sweet and respectful. They have so many questions!

  9. Yay for saying thank you! I think we should do it on a more frequent basis, and not just a holiday that tells us to.

Oooooh, goody bag! Such pretty colors... *drools a little*

  20. I am so thankful for our veterans. We don't have a parade locally. I really wish we did. (Hmm. I wonder who I could talk to about that?)

I also just finished the wonderful video in the post below. I left a comment there, but I have to say again that it was God inspired, God produced, and God directed.

  23. I joined in the assembly at the girls' school. They always have a gentleman from our community who fought in WWII speak. He's been doing it for ten years. I always appreciate what he has to say.

    Love that wool!!
