This morning the girls and some friends met at a local church to help fill food baskets for people in need this holiday. After that, we ran a few errands and then headed home to make a few check marks on our pre-Thanksgiving chore list. We ate lunch then headed to another friend's house where some of our home school teens gather weekly to view a dvd series on apologetics, then back home again to attack that list. At 6:00 people began showing up for dinner and Monday night prayer. It's 10:30 now. Everyone left about 45 minutes ago and the dishes are done.
Today I am thankful for my daughters, for friends, for food, for prayer. And I'm thankful for a holiday specifically designated for the giving of thanks.
Blessings, Debbie
Sounds like a nice full day! Happy Thanksgiving:@)
ReplyDeleteAmen. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. My heart is full of gratitude for the many, many blessings the Lord has given me... Most of all His love and the gift of salvation. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Debbie! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteI am thankful to have met so many wonderful women doing this blogging thing!
ReplyDeleteOh, I plan on winning the lottery and treating everyone to a week long stay in Ireland, we will eat, knit, laugh, shop for yarn... and you know you are on the list!
xx
Have a happy and joyful Thanksgiving, Debbie!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good list to be thankful for. Love all the preparations. Hope you have a happy holiday.
ReplyDeleteCan't help smiling at myself for having to think twice about what holiday you were referring to and that I have exactly the same spice bottles and other ingredient packets in my cupboards.
Delightful!

Oh, you are VERY good and VERY smart, too!
ReplyDeleteThe pizza-making looks delightful. Turns out the gang's coming to our house (I'll email you and tell you why).
I want to do something fun and messy with the little girls this year, while the bird is in the oven.
Bless you, friend.
I can only Thank God for people who go before whose example I can watch and know that all things are possible...somehow this little vignette of life with your girls is good for me.
ReplyDeleteWhat video series are you watching?
What a busy, blessing-filled day! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
ReplyDeleteI'd be interested to know the name of your video series.
(And I wanted to grab a slice of that pizza...and it's only breakfast time!)
Hugs to you...
I couldn't help reading Melissa's comment above about being thankful for those who set a good example. As I read the summary of your day, I was thinking much the same thing.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a very busy but lovely day!
ReplyDeleteI am thankful to have found your blog (through Julie Harward!). It helps to remind me of what is truly important. I really enjoy your family. Happy thanksgiving. xo

ReplyDeleteI was going to say, I love homemade pizza...but what is this? A calzone? Even better.
ReplyDeleteYou make me excited for teenage girls...I'm not rushing but your lovely daughters sure make it sound fun.
I love this holiday, as a time of gathering with those we love, of giving thanks, and sharing with others. Your calzones look delicious!
