I may have mentioned that we were gluttons this weekend... It really was completely unintentional! But what are you going to do when your married daughter calls and tells you that your only baby brother and his family are in Portland on their way home from vacation and they are going to the zoo tomorrow?
Who cares that you will be driving to Washington in the afternoon for a wedding? How many chances are you going to get to spend a morning at the zoo with your 5 year old nephew and your 3 year old niece?
So a surprise was in order. Dennis didn't know that we were in the valley... He was just calling to invite Monte and Hillary. He got way more than he bargained for! And we got to spend 3 grand hours at the zoo with our favorite little (and big) people.
It was amazing what we were able to see in just 3 hours! I've included the highlights including the birds of prey show and the feeding of the crocodiles. These are the best pictures I was able to get of the croc because it was so humid in the 'rain forest' the lens kept fogging up!
All too soon it was time to leave... but we were so glad that we took the time to play!
Blessings, Debbie
Cute, cute, cute daughter. And such faces. Elephant faces. What a grand day. Those birds on the head - yep. Looks like a grand life, my dear.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful 3 hours it looks like you had! The animals are just beautiful and I especially like the monkey's. xx
ReplyDeleteI bet you had a great time! Wonderful photos.x
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great detour and a fun visit:@)
ReplyDeleteThese were great pictures...and it looks like so much fun...what a gift to have all the family together, the older mine get the harder it seems to be able to do that
ReplyDeleteThe photo tour of the zoo was wonderful, even with the humidity in the air. While I loved the animals, my three favorite shots were actually the bird on the head, the hand in the lion's mouth, and the profile of wide eyed wonder.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a truly festive time.
What a wonderful unexpected blessing for all of you! Looks like everyone had a great time!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite photo is the fake lion biting!! Too funny :) I am so glad you had a great time with your family.
ReplyDeleteThat was a fun treat!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got to have this time together!
