"Let's be cheerful"! We have no more right to steal the brightness out of the day for our own family than we have to steal the purse of a stranger. Let us be as careful that our homes are furnished with pleasant & happy thoughts as we are that the rugs are the right color and texture & the furniture comfortable and beautiful"! find your way

Enter through the narrow gate.
For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

  1. Another Amen from me.

And a thumb's up for the picture to accompany the scripture. I have an oddball "thing" about gates. I can hardly wait until I get to step through those narrow pearly ones.

  4. The picture of that gate is so peaceful & inviting - just as are the words of Jesus!

It's sad and sobering that so few find & choose the narrow gate...

  5. Great Scripture at Matthew 7:13&14.

Thanks for commenting on my additional gardening method. It's working out great!

The double pointed needles were beginning to hurt the base of my palms so I switched to 2 circulars about 2-3 years ago and they work better for me. I used the info from here: http://www.socknitters.com/2circs/index.htm

And Ravelry is always a good source, too. I watched a couple of YouTube videos and found it to be much simpler and the best thing is there are no 'ladders' between the needles like using dpn's. My socks have turned out much nicer and I just like using them. I buy 2 circs of the same size but not the same length, usually a 24" and a 32" then I know which is needle 1 and needle 2. Let me know if you need any help.

  7. Yes, indeed on the scripture! And, because the way is so narrow, how grateful I am to the Lord for leading me through it. Couldn't do it on my own for sure. I also like the quote from Laura Ingalls under your header photo. Thanks so much for visiting me and leaving me a kind comment. Please do visit, again. God's grace to you.

  15. Jesus said He came to save, not the righteous, but sinners! Lord, help me to understand how BIG a sinner I am so that I can fit through the little, narrow gate.
    Sweet Blessings...

  16. I think of this scripture so often. To be honest with you it scares me,it makes me want to do more than I do, to study more than I study, to be more like Jesus.
    God Bless,

  17. Beautiful photograph to illustrate the scripture. And oh, your bread looks so good. I'm going to have to try that recipe.

I hope you have a blessed week -- full of joy and fun surprises.

  22. Love this photo! It says "home" to me. We have been out of town and in a pizza place where we ate one night there was a poster that said, "The beaten man takes the beaten path." It reminded me of this scripture and we had fun quoting it to each other, my husband and I, as we explored a new-to-us-city. It was our theme for the weekend. =) (I like it when people say scripture without saying it, you know what I mean?)
