"Let's be cheerful"! We have no more right to steal the brightness out of the day for our own family than we have to steal the purse of a stranger. Let us be as careful that our homes are furnished with pleasant & happy thoughts as we are that the rugs are the right color and texture & the furniture comfortable and beautiful"! empty nest

This weekend the kids deserted us.  Over the mountains and through the valley to Hillary's house they go They left Thursday afternoon and won't be home until late Sunday.  They are gathering there with many friends; some Henrys, some Tolmsoffs, some Hehns, the Bristows, the Eckdahls, the Estes' and the Alexanders.  I hope I didn't miss anyone.

grilling the tortillas is the difference between good........

and great!  See the bubbles?

a simple meal ~ for 2 (hubbies will save 'til he gets home)
They gathered for fun and fellowship.  The fun being a Christian comedian.  The fellowship being the regathering of many families who have moved away due to marriage or the economy.  Not saying of course that the comedian is the only fun in this fellowship!

Although we are missing our young people in the house this weekend I am enjoying a mega dose of quiet. Hubby is hunting so I don't even have the pleasure of conversation.  It's really O.K. as I'm not much of a conversationalist anyway.  : )

Enjoy your weekend.

Blessings,  Debbie

  1. I just spent the last little while browsing your blog. I love your easy writing style and your simple life. I saw at least two recipes that I can try this week (except for the elk meat which I don't think my family is ready for yet anyway...lol). Thanks for stopping by my blog, I can't wait to get to know you better. Hope you enjoyed your quiet weekend.
