After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. Now this is eternal life" that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began. John 17:1-5
Easter came in quietly and left quietly with much of our extended family away. There was time in the wee hours to reflect on the horror, the injustice and the despair of the crucifixion. There was time to wonder (with falling tears) at the beauty, the perfect sacrifice and the true Life gift of the resurrection. And then, in the sunlight hours there was fellowship, eating, praising, gifting, playing, hiking, eating again, more playing and visiting. Was Jesus present at your celebration? Did you invite Him? He never refuses a true and honest invitation... and He's the most worthy guest!
Blessings, Debbie
Happy Easter, Debbie! I've been wondering about you.
ReplyDeleteWe had a wonderful Easter!
ReplyDeleteWere you at a lodge? That room with all the seating is amazing!
Deanna
You know that we belong to a home fellowship. This is not a lodge but the beautiful home of a dear, dear, generous friend where we often gather on Sunday.

Oh and beautiful grandbaby belly too!
ReplyDeleteYour Easter sure looked fun !!
ReplyDeleteA very happy Easter to all the family from Australia. Hugs Sue and Petal.xox
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely passage - one that often gets forgotten about somehow - thank you. Our sermon was from Ezekiel - these bones shall live!! Beautiful photographs too - Happy Easter xx
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your pics so much, the scenery of your walk is fantastic! And what a lovely doggie!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great time.
And yes, Jesus was invited in to our Easter by me! But I'm not sure if my family knew he was there as they are not believers (lovely people, tho : ) )...they just felt His effects!
Blessings to you.
Belated Easter wishes to you and yours; such a lovely story your photos tell, Debbie. I especially enjoyed the "bump" close-up. :) My d.i.l. is in her 3rd trimester now...your daughter, too?
ReplyDeleteI love the baby bump and the photos of everyone sitting around. I like sitting around!
ReplyDeleteBless you, Debbie!
It looks like it was a wonderful, wonderful day! :)
ReplyDeleteLoving all the pictures, and that baby belly! Sounds and looks like a truly wonderful Easter celebration.
ReplyDeleteYou already answered the question I was about to ask you. What a beautiful gathering room and how nice of your friend to let his house serve as a gathering place. This is as close to what the apostles did when they gathered at each other's home.
ReplyDeleteI love how you celebrate Easter. I wasn't home for Easter this year but we has a mini egg hunt for James and it was fun seeing him discovering the chocolate eggs. I can't eat chocolate and my daughter is nursing and she's not eating chocolate either. Nice seeing the grown up taking part in all the celebrations. Baby is growing fast and soon there will be another blessing in your life.
Happy Easter
Hugs,
JB
Looks like a good time was had by all.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I'm impressed by all that fabulous seating, too! Wowzers.
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
ReplyDeleteIt's obvious you know the extent of the blessings of your life...with what truly matters.
I loved your Easter Egg Hunt...a story that lives!
More beautiful, happy photos.
