"Let's be cheerful"! We have no more right to steal the brightness out of the day for our own family than we have to steal the purse of a stranger. Let us be as careful that our homes are furnished with pleasant & happy thoughts as we are that the rugs are the right color and texture & the furniture comfortable and beautiful"! a time for everything

Today.  I can post today.  To be sure there is much happening on these days of silence...  Times are busy as we rush around doing the same types of things others are doing every day, but that isn't what puts on the blogging brakes.  Sometimes there is just a time for blog silence.  Conversations are heavy and healthy around here, all day every day when you are buzzing from person to event to person...  But sometimes you get a check as you approach the keyboard that says shhh.  There are people who process things by talking them out and there are those of us who need time to reflect, time to mull and ponder.

I'm still in deep but I'm beginning to get itchy fingers.  That's when I know it's almost time.  I'm almost ready to use my bloggy voice.  :)  So, as my bloggy friends (spell check is not liking my use of the 'word' bloggy) play without me I quietly mull and ponder in anticipation of growth and good things!  As I pray for all of you, appreciating your prayers for myself, I say... "later"!

steve campbell guitars, friends and babies~these are a few of my favorite things

The week that followed the weekend visit of our friends just wasn't a blogging week.  It was such a nice time that I wanted to share it now even though the time is past.  They were here to choose the style and wood for Judd's new custom Steve Campbell guitar.  A very exciting and long awaited moment for this musician.
Arriving early Saturday, joining us for fellowship Sunday morning and leaving directly after, it was short but we had a comfortable, quiet, laid back time.  The best friends are the friends that you can have a comfortable, quiet, laid back time with.. don't you think?
These thoughts and photos are from weekend before last...

The beautiful babies in the preceding photos we get to enjoy when they visit our Sunday worship service...  Who can resist posting pictures of beautiful babies?  Not I!!  The photo above?  Two of them are my babies.  The other two are beautiful friends.  :)

wash me anew

Wash me anew

Wash me anew
And then stand me to dry where the indigo blue of the sea and the sky
Fuse together connecting the mist and the dew
Come Holy Father and
Wash me anew

Wash me anew
And remove all the blame, let the cloak of your spirit wrap round this damp frame
As it's healing, preparing and willing to move
Come Holy Father and
Wash me anew

Wash me anew
Father, Wash me anew
Flood me and rinse me and fill me with You
Raise me and feed me and spur me and lead me
Wash me anew Father
Wash me anew

Wash me anew
Then prepare me to walk where there's evil and darkness and people who talk
Of a faith that is hopeless and a god who's not you...
Come Holy Father and
Wash me anew

Wash me anew
Send me to the masses who wait for an answer to questions unasked
To hearts that are hungry for truth that is true
Come Holy Father and
Wash me anew

Wash me anew
Father, Wash me anew
Flood me and rinse me and fill me with You
Raise me and feed me and spur me and lead me
Wash me anew Father
Wash me anew

a time to sow

It's time!  It's time for pulling and raking and hoeing and planting.  It's early here in Central Oregon but there are things that will be happy to go in the ground early and we are happy to be diving into spring.  Erin started a few tomatoes and some sunflowers, nasturtiums, morning glory and oh, I don't know... lots of lovely goodness indoors.  We won't be putting any of these outside yet but we will plant the spinach and lettuce and radishes and peas.
We lost one of our hens early this winter so we are down to three.  Two are producing daily which isn't quite enough to keep us in breakfasts and bakies so we're looking for the third to start laying and thinking about getting another.
The trampoline is again wearing its bouncy mat and so ponytails have been flying outside the bay window reminding me that I'm old.  That's O.K..  I may have lost my bounce but now that I am old I am wide wise!  :)

our easter story

After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the time has come.  Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.  For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him.  Now this is eternal life" that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.  I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.  And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.  John 17:1-5

Easter came in quietly and left quietly with much of our extended family away.  There was time in the wee hours to reflect on the horror, the injustice and the despair of the crucifixion.  There was time to wonder (with falling tears) at the beauty, the perfect sacrifice and the true Life gift of the resurrection.  And then, in the sunlight hours there was fellowship, eating, praising, gifting, playing, hiking, eating again, more playing and visiting.  Was Jesus present at your celebration?  Did you invite Him?  He never refuses a true and honest invitation... and He's the most worthy guest!
