"Let's be cheerful"! We have no more right to steal the brightness out of the day for our own family than we have to steal the purse of a stranger. Let us be as careful that our homes are furnished with pleasant & happy thoughts as we are that the rugs are the right color and texture & the furniture comfortable and beautiful"! feels so right

The night air is frigid while the days are still quite warm and although the tomatoes froze last week, the asters are only just waving their purple greetings.  The (still green) lawn is strewn with gold and red below trees that are trying to decide whether or not they are ready to fully let go.  I've read 2 novels in 5 days, knitting is back in my lap... and all is right with the world.

On my needles?  I've picked back up the Elizabeth Zimmerman Tomten that took it's summer's hibernation in the favored tapestry knitting basket.  It was an easy transition.  I do believe it was naturally the time to wake up as I've not had a disagreeable moment yet.  Smooth sailing.

Having a teacher who couldn't keep her nose out of a book did nothing but keep two other noses right where they belong this week.  We've all accomplished some serious reading.  This book was in a bag with a couple of others that a friend picked up at a yard sale.  I don't read much comtemporary fiction but the timing was right, I needed a new read so it came to bed with me.  I loved this book.  This is definitely a recommend!

Now, I guess here we go again? A frost already? You know I am envious. We did go down to 57 the other night, but now we are back to the 70's and night :(

  5. **squeals** The book Some Wildflower in My Heart is my favorite Christian fiction book!! Like you, I am not an avid Christian fiction reader...so much of it is what I consider to be "fluff." Not so, the books of Jamie Langston Turner. They are meaty, and deep, and her characters are well-developed. And she includes poetry and hymns and... (Can you tell I like her books?)

Glad that everything is right in your world today. Isn't fall just the best season?

  6. I love that chair. I could sit there for awhile and read, too.

Though not much of a fictional reader - I say yes to it every now and then. The only thing is, is that I read at night (10-15 minutes tops until my literal lights out) - just to unwind. This book sounds like it might be a good one, though. I'll have to keep my eyes out for it.

Right now I'm rereading Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.

  18. I've read that book - read it for church book club (don't read much contemporary fiction, either). It is pretty good for what it is.
