Part the first... the Splash and Dash. Last year I posted about our annual fourth of July shin-dig but this year we've added something new to the traditions list. The three musketeers entered as team number 29 to compete in this city's morning of the fourth tradition. This dragged us out of the house earlier than usual and was a wonderful way to start a beautiful day. First, Joey jumped into the pool at 8:45 to swim her laps. Next she slapped the team wristband on Erin's wrist and sent her on a 12 mile bike ride that took her through the canyon along the river and back to the other end of town.
Slap! Wristband is now on Makenna's wrist for her 6 mile run...
She's back and this happy trio is ready for breakfast! Yes, this was part 1 of a l-o-n-g harmonious day. The other two parts to follow...
Blessings, Debbie, Joey, Erin and Makenna :)
Wow, congrats to the girls! Sounds like you had a very full day indeed:@)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a very exhausting, fun day!
ReplyDeleteI've missed you and hope life is wonderful in you
part of the world.
Good for the girls! Hope they weren't too tuckered out to enjoy the rest of the day!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's wonderful! I can't wait to see the rest! Miss you!
ReplyDeleteWow! I would have had to be Erin in this trio. Can't swim or run for 6 miles, but I could ride my bike for 12 miles especially with a comfy seat like Erin has on hers. I hope they are making memories of a friendship that will last a lifetime.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your active family...reminds me of my bunch, mine are into cross fit and marathons...mom isn't! Looks like a wonderful beginning of a great day
ReplyDeleteWay to go, team 29! Fabulous start to the day. Slightly envious of your open air swimming pool. Happy times!
ReplyDeleteSuch healthy kids! I think I would like to dash and then splash...but I see they each had their specialty to do for the race! Very nice teamwork..I bet it was fun.
ReplyDeleteI hope your daughter gets some cool air come through for her camp. Being outdoors in the heat is when you really appreciate cold drinks. love, andrea
What a great day his must have been for the girls. It makes me wish that I was young again instead of being aching all over every day. It's nice having traditions to look forward to every year.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my poor neglected blogg. Sorry that I haven't been around much. Haying season is here in full force, looking after the hired hands and cows are calving like crazy so I've been super busy and so tired by the end of the day that I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.
I hope that the rain will come to refress everything.
Hugs,
JB
