"Let's be cheerful"! We have no more right to steal the brightness out of the day for our own family than we have to steal the purse of a stranger. Let us be as careful that our homes are furnished with pleasant & happy thoughts as we are that the rugs are the right color and texture & the furniture comfortable and beautiful"! hello summer

We waited and waited and waited for spring... We did a little spring cleaning.  We put away the winter clothes.  We planted the lettuce and the spinach (missed the peas).  We even decorated the chalk board in our loudest welcome possible!  It was slow in coming, but come it did.

Now I think it's time to invite summer...

Blessings, Debbie

  3. Summer has taken her sweet time to come for a visit this year, she showed up yesterday. I was so happy to see her. I keep telling her to stay for awhile but she said, she can only spare a couple of days this week. I decided I would be happy and just enjoy her visit. :) I greet her each morning by opening my doors wide and and letting my windows say open to by ways of greeting.
I just love the perfume she wears. I hope your day with her is just and nice. I do think you need to decorate that chalk board too.
    Hugs,
    Kim
P.S. I get to go to the library today and get some of Jane's books. I am excited. I will let you know what I think.

  4. Summer is taking her sweet time getting here, too. (northern WV) She visited for about a week and now it is cool again. I had to turn on the blanket last night for a bit! I'm not complaining though. 75 degrees is about perfect!

  5. Summer has been here and I'm ready for her to go! It was 101 here yesterday, 115 with the heat index! Records are being broken everywhere. I would love some cooler temps and some rain would be a real blessing.

  8. Summer is being a bit pokey in these parts. Hope it hurries up or we won't have tomatoes or peppers this year.

  9. Hooray hooray, yes, let's invite summer. It's supposed to be in the eighties here this weekend. Perhaps we'll put up our pool.

Thank you for reading and encouraging us on our adoption journey. We are blessed by the power of our praying friends!

    Blessings!

  11. I wonder what happened to Summer to make her so shy, or perhaps mother Nature is getting forgetful in her old age. I think that we all need to hang out our welcome signs. JB

  14. Seeing your chalk board brought back such memories! It is very similar to one I had growing up. I loved it so much. Where did it go, I wonder?

Spring lasted maybe 2 weeks for us. We will gladly send you some summer. It was 101 here today.

  16. I think summer is confused, it has been here a couple of weeks already. We have had highs in the upper 90's. I am wondering what happened to spring. Not one to complain though, I will take this over cold and snowy any day.

  17. We missed planting peas as well. But our summer garden is in and we are quite content with that! I hope you have many many lazy dazy summer days ahead :D
