"Let's be cheerful"! We have no more right to steal the brightness out of the day for our own family than we have to steal the purse of a stranger. Let us be as careful that our homes are furnished with pleasant & happy thoughts as we are that the rugs are the right color and texture & the furniture comfortable and beautiful"! my nephew is a nature journalist!

{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.
Wishing you a lovely weekend!

  2. I love reading kids writing and seeing how their little minds work. I hope he continues to write and notice. The noticing is so important.

  4. Hi Debbie,

Yes seriously, we went to Italy! And I've been posting on it forever because I took so many pictures it's taking me a long time to sort through them. You know...I decided today that I love your blog! Your pictures are gorgeous. The one of the tree on the ground with the bright yellow flower popping through...and the one with the lizard type animal that you can barely see...and so many others, just gorgeous I tell ya! So glad you took control of the Memorial weekend situation and did what was best. You know how we all have regrets in life. Well, some of my regrets are when I didn't take control of something I thought was wrong. So, good for you. And even better when two parents stick by each others decision. I've noticed the hardest times in peoples lives are raising kids, and parents disagreeing on the decision. And this post with the note from your nephew...I've saved notes like this from my nieces with the intent on stitching them onto muslin or osnaburg and turning them into pillows or framing them. I will do it, someday. They are too precious.
Thanks for your comment on my blog.

  11. My husband and I have an expression for things like that. We call it "toe curling". It means that we're so overcome by a child's sweetness that our toes curl up.

    Mine curled.

And I risked a computer wonky attack to click that link and am glad I did. (Also glad the computer let me...)

  12. Hi Debbie,
"Savor" has been my word for this year, and I too have been savoring moments such as this as I know that they are gifts from my heavenly Father.
I am trying to catch up as I have been off line a lot lately, just so busy and once agin savoring moments.I read some of your previous post and would like to comment, The photos of your beautiful state are breath taking, and I applaud you and your husband for the difficult decision you both made during the Memorial Day weekend, as parents we sometimes have to make decisions that are not happy ones for everyone, but eventually our children realize it was the best one. May you continue to be obedient to the Holy Spirit, as He is our guide and teacher.
Many blessings to you and your family on the beautiful Lord's Day.
    Hugs,
    Sue
