I have a couple of quilt tops that my mom-in-law gave to me that are handsewn by her grandmother or great grandma?. I did plan on finishing them, but haven't had the time lately. They sure are pretty made out of scraps!!Gloriahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14423246756894055585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3792106146507446102.post-58916121505625327352011-04-02T15:17:28.564-07:002011-04-02T15:17:28.564-07:00Looks like a fun time...and great projects. Seems like...Debbie - I, too, am no spring chicken. Seems like there aren't that many of us retired and beautifully aged chicks playing with computers. And my testimony could be expressed in the EXACT words you used. Which makes me happy. My sister in law ended up with my husband's great grandmother's quilt tops - both made out of the flour sacks of the time. She showed me the one she was finishing, that was interesting and kinda nice, then offered me the other one if I wanted it. I was so excited - till I saw it. Holy cats; that thing was about THE ugliest most florid mess of hideous color I had ever seen. We both laughed till we cried. But out of the room, so the quilt top couldn't hear us.

I love the glass buttons. But I'd never be brave enough, I'm afraid, to use a quilt for a table cloth. My daughter's mom-in-law has a Thimbleberry's quilt on her breakfast room table, but it's covered with a nice, thick slab of glass.

Thanks for letting me come visit.Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02040714440875408436noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3792106146507446102.post-37878350240484372842011-04-01T16:59:08.024-07:002011-04-01T16:59:08.024-07:00Thanks for your visit...sounds like a nice day for...Thanks for your visit...sounds like a nice day for you here, I love your project, it will make such a darling table cloth! I love that museum.I will have to put it in my list of things to go visit when I am next in your neck of the woods, I loved, loved that horse made of barb wire? I thought it was a real horse at first. I have to show my kids. I really enjoyed the pictures and the wild animals.
So it is still cold there? We will hit 87 today. Not quite ready for it.
I like your quilt too. Very nice. Is that your hen? She looks very nice.
Thanks for coming by today. I did make a quilt top into a table cloth and I love it. I have a big front porch and we spend most of our time out there in the summer, sitting in the wicker rockers and watching the birds. Quilts on my wicker furniture and my old table make me smile and especially make me want Summer to be here, NOW!

Thanks for your lovely comment on my sweater. Not wearing it.
